Sip your way to a happy heart

BY the age of 35 almost half of adults in the UK have raised cholesterol, yet nine out of ten don't know their cholesterol number.

Although it has no symptoms, raised cholesterol can lead to heart disease and many people don't realise they are at risk until it is too late.

Pomegreat pomegranate juice, which was revealed as one of the top five healthiest fruit juices earlier this year, has joined forces with pioneering heart health charity, Heart Research UK, to help raise awareness of the importance of balanced diet and exercise for a healthy cholesterol level.

The juice has launched a stylish limited edition pack of its mouthwatering 100 per cent juice blends, Pomegreat 100 and Pomegreat 100 Blueberry, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Heart Research UK.

Plus as a treat for Pomegreat lovers nationwide, the Not From Concentrate juices have relaunched with a new improved taste and are now available in larger 1 litre cartons.

Denise Armstrong, Lifestyle Director at Heart Research UK explains: "By making simple lifestyle changes such as eating plenty of fruit and vegetables(or drinking pure fruit juices), reducing intake of saturated fat and exercising regularly people can help to naturally lower their cholesterol."

With no artificial colours, sweeteners or flavourings, Pomegreat 100 and Pomegreat 100 Blueberry contain at least ten pressed pomegranate fruit in every carton. It is proven to contain a high quantity of antioxidants which can help maintain a healthy heart as part of a balanced diet.

Heart Research UK was founded in 1967 Heart Research UK and has supported numerous medical advancements, including the world's first successful heart transplant and artificial heart pump. They aim to make research into heart disease more affordable and so improve treatment and techniques to save heart patients' lives.

The limited edition 'ruby' packs are available for Pomegreat 100 and Pomegreat 100 Blueberry. Stockists include Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury's where both chilled juices cost £3.29 for a one litre carton.
